Server Side Includes

I need help i'm running Suse 10.0 our website pages are .shtml i manage to get it to index the correct page but it displays the page in source view or code. Any idea what's wrong?

Check the mime types, typically in /etc/httpd/conf/mime.types.

Mine for htm and html looks like this:

I don't have shtml listed, but you could try adding that to the text/html type.

First off thanks for the quick replys. But where should i be looking for this information? which file because i posted the stuff from the httpd.conf file and i seach the file system for
.htaccess and didn't find a file by that name.

.htaccess is an optional per directory file used for additional configurations directives. It can be a performance factor and somes hosts disallow processing of local htaccess files.

Those lines could be in any of your configuration files, that's why I didn't specify which one. Based on the httpd.conf that you posted above, I would say it should probably be in 'default-server.conf' but it doesn't really matter where you put it.
