Server Side Include Problem

Hello -

I am running apache server and have configured it to use SSI's. The SSI's are working fine most of the time, but every once in awhile the SSI's for a page don't load properly and the message "An error occurred while processing this directive" is displayed.

Has anyone seen this behavior before? Does anyone know how to fix this?

The error we are seeing in the log comes up as follows:

[Thu Oct 04 10:08:31 2007] [error] [client 142.36.189.169] unable to include "/shared/includes/footer.html"
in parsed file /app/htdocs/pacific/en/index.html

I think directly translated that error says "Quit using Windows".

I'm not sure if that was a joke or not... That aside, we are running apache on Unix and of course a huge portion of our end users are going to be using Windows Internet Explorer to look at our site. Any suggestions?
