Server replacement

I need to replace my server running Windows SBS 2008. When loading the OS I am unable to select the current domain, it requires a different domain name. This isn't too big a problem, I can shift us to a new domain but when I try to run on a client it fails to find the new server.
If someone could give me some simple steps to switch out the servers, preferably keeping my old domain, I would be grateful!
