Can anyone tell me standard procedure to recover a SCO server in the event of a failure ??? I do have a backup of all the filesystems on a DLT.

How was the backup generated?

If it was one of the 'super-tars' (backup Edge, Lone-tar) then there should be an emrgency boot set that can do a '1-button' restore of the complete system.

If it's a tar or cpio, then you would need the SCO emergency boot/root diskettes.

How is the server behaving? Can it boot at all? Pat Welch, UBB Computer Services
