I am getting ready to reinstall ArcServe 2000 to a machine with Windows 2000 server. It is currently running on an NT 4.0 box. My question is concerned with Licensing/and Database move.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make sure the licensing, database, and job queue is maintained during the move?

When it comes to licensing, I think all you have to do is make sure the old box is shut off before you license the new box with the same licensing information you had on the old box. As for database moves, I've never been able to pull that off....

Just remerge the tapes into the new database, or simply recover the database from tape into the new install... voila! :p

Also, licensing, it all depends on what kind of license you have? If you have a one for all site license then a copy of the CA_LIC directory to the new server should suffice, but if not then your buggered because the license information is MAC address and harddrive specific. So you'll have to re-register it as suggested above by Montanablue2.
