Folks,
I have few of SCO servers and for some reason one of them just becomes slow during the day. There is no fixed time. Can anyone tell me what I can do to check y the system is behaving like this. Also does anyone has a copy of a compilied version of the TOP utility for SCO.

You need to identify whether its a problem local to the machine (some sort of process) or whether its network activity.

Does a w return a high load during these times?
If so try and identify from ps what processes are eating CPU time

Is the server acting as a DNS server, do you have large DNS transfers going on?

When its slow try doing a netstat - will show active internet connections.

Can't help much more without knowing the servers details i.e. primary functions, databases?

Well, its a beginning!

Phil
