Hi,
I have a windows 2000 Advanced Server which has been running fine for over a year yet for some reason over the last weekend it has started playing up. None of the machines on the network can get access to the server whether it be shared folders / files or shared printers. I have tried restarting the server a few times, restarting the user PC's and checked all the services are running. I've also tried deleting accounts in the Active User Directory and re-adding them to see if that works but have had no joy. If anyone can give me some pointers on things to try or ideas on what the problem could be it would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Richard

You haven't specified as to whether checked the network connectivity to the server itself. Also have you checked the event logs on the server as to possible issues.

I have checked the network connection on the server and it shows as connected and i can ping the servers IP address from any machine on the network. There is nothing different showing in the event logs than was showing a few months ago.

Try diagnose the DC. Use the following at the command prompt and post the results.dcdiag and netdiag on the domain controllers .

Malware.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.
