How do you tell the difference between a Silver node and a WinterHawk?

The nickname is based on speed. A silver would be 332MHz and a winterhawk is 375MHz. You can check this by 'splstdata -n' .

alternatively you could issue 'lsattr -El sys0 -a modelname'

You will get IBM,9076-WCN for a Silver wide, IBM,9076-270 for a Winterhawk, IBM,9076-N81 for a Nighthawk etc etc. The nomenclature used is that displayed in the IBM Facts and Features Guides - ie you won't see p690 etc but the names as above. Best of luck :)
