Server Login Prompt from Parameter field??

I have added a new parameter field to an existing Crystal XI report. I have set it up as a Dynamic list and pointed it to the field in my database where the values are stored (in this case Client Names). When I refresh the report and indicate that I wish to be prompted for new parameter values, I get a server login screen with the name of my ODBC connection, database name and the User Name of 'dba' prefilled. The Password field is blank. I don't have to supply a password for the report to update when this parameter field ISN'T present. Why am I now getting this prompt? BTW - Clicking 'OK' doesn't do anything. The dialogue just sits there.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciate.

Thanks!

The dynamic list needs to be populated from the database - hence a login need..This is a separate login from the report itself, which probably is saved with the report.

The report does not require a database login. Access to the database is inherited from the rights associated with my membership in an Active Directory group that has rights to this database. I understand that this is a different connection as I have a separate SQL command built just for the purpose of accessing this field.

Are you using the same named driver for the command and the main report? I've seen this happen when differently named drivers were used.

Same ODBC connection for both.

The ODBC connection uses Windows Authentication. It does not require an explicit database login and password.

Bump. I had to abandon this as I wasn't able to get it to work. I ended up importing the entire client list into the parameter field. However, updating this list manually is getting to be too much as the client list has grown substantially. I really need to get this dynamic parameter working. Any ideas how to proceed?

The preview function has never worked correctly for me when I use dynamic pick lists. If you run them from an outside program they run great! Don't give up on em.

I know, when I have setup reports to run thru the infoserver. I always have go thru the CMC, hit the parameters option, and tell it the database login, it does not seem to assume the same dtabase login as the report.
