Server keeps losing CALS

One of my clients has SBS 2003 and several times over the last few months they lose their CALS. It has been no biggy to add them back, other than our client calling saying everything has gone to crap. Most of our clients use SBS 2003 and have never lost them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
This post talks about the exact same thing and the recommended solution is to have the A/V not scan the license folder, but that sounds like grasping at straws to me.

MS does have a KB article addressing this but no real solution:

Yeah I have read that article before. No help on the cause of it though.
