Hi,

Having a problem with Crystal Enterprise Version 8.

The following have a status of STOPPING and no matter what I do they will not stop, nor will they restart. Think something has got corrupted.

Crystal Cache Server
Crystal Output File Repository
Crystal Page Server
Crystal Report Job Server

Even tried unistalling so I could re-install but I cannot uninstall as I get a message saying cannot stop Job server etc.

Please help

Mike

Wow, that sounds pretty bad - maybe it's a conflict with other software or processes on your computer? If you only use the servers for CR, then I'd recommend trying to reboot them into safe mode, or disabling all startup applications. Maybe then you could uninstall. If you have CRE working on a different server, try using the modules utility to compare running processes on both machines to look for software conflicts. Beyond that I'd agree with you about plain old corruption. If the files are corrupted and you can't uninstall, I guess you've just got a real mess on your hands.

Very uplifting, Cestus. ;-)

Before you hit panic stations, just verify that you've been through the following few checks;

Through the Microsoft Management Console's Internet Service Manager, stop any Crystal reliant stuff.

Then in Task Manager, manually End Process on crpgsvr, and any other cr* process running.

If possible, power down/up.

If your Crystal servers are running on the System account, change them so that they run under a domain user.

Is there a problem with running the Crystal Enterprise processes on the system account? We just finished moving them all to a system account because of password expiration problems.
