Hello everybody,

I'm not quite sure where to look next so I figured I'd give the forums a try to see if i can get some direction.

This morning I had the IP address of my server changed as an ISP was upgrading our DSL connection.

This of course affects Groupwise webaccess as the link for the webaccess webpublisher page was the old IP address.

So I used the Netware Administrator (NWADMIN32) to go to
GROUPWISE>EXT_DOM>GWWEB> and change the Server Configurration to the new IP address.

Where else do I need to change the setting so that I can get my GWWEB access back up & running?

I checked the server where this service resides and looked up the Groupwise webaccess server option but I did not see any editable options?

I did see this error however:

Warning: Public Userid for webpublisher not configured.

I'm guessing I have to make a setting change with the webpublisher??

Where do I go next?

Note:
I'm using Novell Netware 5.1 SP6 and GroupWise 5.5

Thanks for any help I can get.

Have you tried looking in Novell's Knowledgebase? I did a few searches on your problem and came up with a bunch of KB articles. You'll need to sift through them on your own though.

Go to Put a checkmark in "GroupWise", "Technical Information", and "Manuals" and do a search on your problem. It might help to do a search on the error message that you are getting or on "change IP".

Sorry I'm not of more help. Hopefully that will work, though.

Thanks Ron, I've started taking a look at some of the Knowledge base stuff, but still havent really gotten anywhere.

I've been told via the Novell tech forum to take a look at the novonyx file for the webserver. So I'm currently doing that.

There is no real error in this case as its just this webserver is not picking up the new ip address. Its very frustrating because I dont know where to go to make the change that will allow my Groupwise webaccess service to go back to what it was this morning before the IP change.

In actuality, the webaccess server is working fine its just not picking up the new IP. But I'll keep at it.

Thanks for the info.

Cheers!

Sounds to me like your Web server (novonyx) is not listening on the new IP address.. That's really independent of GroupWise -- more of a web server thing. I can't remember how to change that address though, but I'm sure you could look through the config files.

I changed the IP address in the MAGNUS.CONF file. I've also realized that I no longer can receive external messages through Groupwise, where else do I need to change the IP address.

I'm not panicking yet, but I'm getting there lol

Thanks for any help I can get

I tried replying to your new post on "Not Receiving" but I don't believe they submitted. So I will reply here also and see what happens.

For starters you will need to change your DNS "MX" record to reflect your new IP # of your mail host. The "MX" record is how the rest of the world knows you. This will be done by either you or whomever hosts/maintains your DNS.
You will also need to change the IP # in your SMTP Gateway (GWIA). I can not recall exactly what screen it is on, but the setting is under the properties screen(s) of the GWIA.

Good Luck!

Hey, Excellerate, you should try to keep your similar posts in one forum and/or thread. I just replied to you in the NetWare 5 forum and then found your thread here and Farout had already told you the same thing.

Sorry, I usually do keep it all in the one place, but I wasn't getting any replies so I figured I'd try and reword my subject line.

But in my defense they were 2 seperate queries at one time, howvever they are linked now.

1. Groupwise webaccess was down - I posted a solution for that here.

2. Security certificates for DNS and IP - I'm still trying to solve something related to that.

I think I was panicking and so I was trying everything to find a solution.

Anyhow, thanks for the help...everybody!
