We are currently running on the following:

Compaq ML370
Dual PIII 933
1 Gig of RAM
Raid 5 ARRAY

We do not know what the 'minimum' size should be. It is slow when logging in and going from folder to folder. Once you open a report, it is not too bad.

Any suggestions?

We are on CE 10.0.

Thanks,

Jeff C.

There's no easy answer to your question. In order to adequately size your environment, there are a number of factors that need to be taken into consideration:[ol][li]Total Users[/li][li]Concurrent Usage[/li][li]Total Reports[/li][li]Other applications on the server (not a good idea)[/li][li]etc...[/li][/ol]That server might be perfectly fine for some production environments. In fact, the server might be fine for your environment, but performance is slowed by other factors such as improper configuration. In general, there are way too many factors to be answered in this forum. This would require actual consulting for any of us to answer you properly.

At minimum, I'd recommend you contact your Business Objects Account Executive and request sizing documentation. You may have a better idea about what you need after going through the document.

You could attend some of the various Crystal Enterprise administration courses offered by Business Objects (check out Lastly, getting a good consultant to come onsite may not be a bad idea.

Thanks Kurt, that's the avenue we will go. We don't have a "true" IT person, so we just didn't really know where to start. I appreciate your advice.
