Server idenity issue

Sounds funny enough but our server sees its IP address, but not its name. The only way I can get anyone here on our shared drive is to connect to the ip address of the server. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I need it to be able to see its name so exchange wil work for our email.

What does your internal dns structure look like, hows it setup, is it functional, is this server registered with the dns server?
