Server has not yet been opened 8.5 Not Admin 1

Hello,

I am setting up a terminal server to run for the client. When I run the report as an Administrator it works, but when I run it as a regular user I get "Server has not yet been opened".

Any ideas?

This KB article doesn't describe your exact issue, but it does contain your probable solution (copy the necessary .dlls into the winnt(or Windows)/system32 folder:

Thanks Dave,

I checked that, but all of my Crystal files are in the System32 directory.

I think this seems the type of problem. Any other ideas?

Hey Matt,

Just out of curiosity, did you install Crystal over terminal services? Also, what version of Crystal are we talking, 8.5?

This is why I ask: We had similar problems before version 10 (actually, lots of little problems), but we had installed crystal over TS. We uninstalled all components of the app, and re-installed at the server and all of the issues vanished.

We did not have the same problems with Crystal versions 10 and higher.

A workaround that one of my clients had found was to create and copy the Windows/Crystal folder into each Terminal Server user's profile. A lot of work, but it was what worked for them.
