server has not been opened as400

I open a data dictionary, I drag and drop a field on to the report. When I click refresh to show the data I get the following error:

Server has not been opened.

Can someone tell me how to fix this problem?

I think that the 'Server has not been opened' message stems from the fact that the client machine is unable to access the required database / tables.
Does the client machine have access to the database ?
Is the appropriate log-on information being passed as required (location / table-names / user-name / password, etc.) ?
Is it on the AS/400 ?
Can you make use of the data-dictionary's through other means outside of the reports ?

It turns out the user needed to open Crystal dictionaries and logon to the Server (AS400).
