I built up two new Dell PowerEdge 2800 servers with Novell 6.5sp4 two months ago. Every time that I try to reset the server, down the server, or restart the server I get the following error message:

BTCPCOM-7 TCP/IP accept () error (50) has occurred and
ProcessorXserverconnectionrequest ( ) ret: 0 errno:0

I've rebuilt these machines two times, using default and manual configuration. I cannot get the system to reboot successfully.

Can some on give me any advice as to why this is?

Thank you.

Hi BiJae,
You may want try Pervasive's support/knowledge base for details. According to their online documentation:

"BTCPCOM-7: A TCP/IP accept error (nn) has occurred:
An error occurred during a TCP/IP level accept session establishment operation. Refer to your operating system documentation for the definition of the error number. Retry the operation. If the error persists, contact Technical Support at Pervasive Software."

Sorry not an answer but may point you in the correct direction. I did notice some of the other type of BTCPCOM errors refer to when BSTART loads (in the autoexec) - perhaps trying a BSTOP or unloading it first may give you temp fix.
Good Luck.

Update to nw6.5sp4a. I think there is a specific BTCPCOM error with NW6.5sp4 servers. Also look in the sp4a text to see what it fixes. Im sure I saw that in there just the other day.

Thank you, michigan and brichr..

I found that changing the HAM drivers for the PERC controller from BKSTROSM.HAM to SCSIOSM.HAM resolved the error.

...and if you're going to update to SP4.x, it needs to be SP4b.

LawnBoy:

I'm runnin NW6.5sp4a. I don't see a 4b service pack released under the consolidated service packs for netware on the novell site. Is this service pack still a beta release?
