I'm looking at installing MCD for ISS, the site will be approx 40 IP phones and 10 Sip Trunks which is alll straight forward.

However I would like some "real world" recomendations for a good quality and "inexpensive" server which can be tower or rackmount. I could just choose something off the Mitel Tested Hardware" docs, but would much prefer something that is known to work etc.

Thanks

thats the whole point of the qualified hardware list......Mitel have tested and support the servers on that list only.

bobcheese, that's what I was thinking, but I'm guessing he's looking for a cheaper server that isn't on the list.

Why not using a CX for such small sites?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

You got any vMWare? why not try a vMCD. Otherwise I think anything on the HCL is pretty much a safe bet. Basically it shows Dell, HP and IBM. Not really a problem in that bunch. Have to agree with tipeter though in that don't know if your saving much by using ISS versus a CX or CXi especially when you get no internal DHCP, no internal voicemail no ability to use internal VM for RADs, no single line ports no copper trunks and a few other things are missing when using MCD for ISS. Typically an ISS installation would be paired with a physical 3300 for the above.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.
