I have a 4.11 server that is fine and I installed another one to get a better feel of managing two servers, problem is I only had one license so when I was told that the license was a duplicate I aborted the installation of the second server but the first server beeps and the error message is saying it is looking for the aborted server and I can't figure out how to get rid of it.I have rebooted the server and I went into NWadmin and it is not in the tree either for me to delete.

Try running DSREPAIR, Unattended full repair. If this does not resolve your problem run DSREPAIR, go to advanced select replica ring operations. Remove the second non-existant server from the replcia ring

Thanks for the response,I tried the dsrepair and it did find errors but it did not fix the problem with the server that is not there. So I went into advance replica ring and for some strange reason when it ask me for the admin name and password it is not letting me in so I have a different
issue to deal with before I can see if the replica ring works.

Make sure you are typing the full name of your admin user eg. admin.ou.o

I may not have the exact options listed, it is something like replica operations, youll have to have a good look and be very carefull.

We had something similar after a migration. Somewhere deep in the guts of the server, it was pulling information about the very first install (before I started working here -which was different than the migration info). After hours of trouble shooting, we ending up calling Novell.

Novell's tech support dialed into our system, run their very own proprietary program, and was able to remove all entries.

Our DSRepair never even seen the errors.
Good Luck
