Server Filter

I am currently building an application in MS Access 2003 (.adp)and am experiencing problems when I use a search field. Whenever I type/cut and paste a value into a particular field within most of the forms the search returns the same record all the time dispite not searching for that record. I then look in the Server Filter field under the form properties and see that it has the value of the record that is being returned. Why does this happen? How is the Server Filter Field automatically populated?

I hope this is clear. Can you shed any light on what the cause may be?
