server extensions on win2k server

I am new to frontpage 2000 and I am getting a message when I want to create a web page indicating my server extensions are not installed. I verified that they are when installed and I ensured the option for compatibility on the menu bar is selected under page options. I looked for hints on this website search engine but no luck. Can someone help as to why frontpage might say this and how to correct it?

Could you post the steps you take just prior to getting the error and the exact error message that you get. What version FrontPage Server Extensions are on the server? And are you getting this error trying to create a new page on your local hard drive, or when you try to open the remote web live with FrontPage?
