Hi,

When you say it doesn't let you in do you mean that it starts normally and gives the logon prompt but you can't login ? Or does it stop during boot up with a '#' prompt ?

If the latter, then you need to run fsck (filesystem check) against your partitions. This would be like :

# fsck -y /dev/hda7 <== check partition - example only

Make sure you substitute the correct device for the example /dev/hda7 above (e.g. /dev/sda1 for scsi) and repeat for all your linux partitions. Also that syntax assumes the partition is ext2 - it would be different if not. Be particularly careful if its a multi-boot partition with non-linux partitions .

Hope this helps

It Gives the Login prompt but doesnt recognise any username.
