Has anyone done a fresh SE R9 and understood the documentation on adding licenses or deploying a virtual se with two remote IP500v2 units that are in a SCN with R9.0 software on them already?
I have the VM SE Server up and running, but adding the other 2 systems is a mess. I added one of them as an expansion system for the analog trunks and stations. But I cann't get the license to work on the system.

Where are you trying to put licenses on the Primary or Expansion? From the discription above the expansion would only need a Virtual server edition license that lives on the Primary. What licenses areyou trying to add?

All of a sudden, I have virtual licenses appearing on both expansion systems, and now it let me put my ADI licenses on one of the expansions, it shows the FK# on the system tab. the other expansion system the first one I installed doesn't show the FK# and the ADI license I cut and pasted from my old config show as invalid. I'm going to remove the bad expansion and then reinstall to see if that helps.

now that worked... the documentation is mostly from R8.1... they never updated it properly. Now I need to figure out how or where I have these virtual license from. Do you know what licenses come with the Virtual SE license?

I already did complain about the documentation.
It sucks and it is not finished at all.
Yesterday i press the help button on the locations settings but it just does do nothing.
When you add a second server or expansion system then the expansion system reboots but you still need to reboot the server(s) otherwise it won't work.
Did you do that?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I don't think it rebooted or needed it. This is all on my Demo and Lab systems, so I really didn't pay attention to the reboots. I'm goibng to add a 3rd system to it this weekend for testing, I'll let you know what happens.

Do you know what licenses come with the virtual SE license? I got this for my demo and lab systems,It was loaded I think with 12 or 14 ports of VM Pro and 7 instances of Server Edition R9 when I started. I am still scratching my head wondering where the 7 SE licenes came from I ordered 1 virtual se for my vm server, and 1 for each of my IP500v2 units. Now all the licenses are loaded from my SE, Lab and Demo I have a total of 32 ports of VM Pro (virtual), 15 Server Edition licenses and the other SIP and Endpoint licenses I ordered with the systems.

You don't get these, they are create by the server

7 server edition licenses means 2 VMPro ports per server edition license thus 14 ports of VMPro

I think you are lucky and they made a mistake.
KEep in mind that almost all licenses must be on the server edition except for CTI and PRI channels licenses.
There are a couple more but that is in the docs somewhere :)
When you add a 3rd expansion system then it will reboot the expansion system added but not the server itself, you will need to do that by hand.
This is done on purpose as there could be call going on somewhere else.

What I know is that in the 8.1 the expansion licenses have to be placed into the IP600v2, viceversa on 9.0 the same licenses have to be set in the Primary Server, the IP500v2 does not own any license, excepted the PRI, CTI and other few ones

On 8.1 also the server edition licence is on the server itself.
