Hi Folks, we have a Primary and secondary virtually working perfect. I have 2 V2 500s that we are using for PRIs in two spots. I have the resiliency assigned to both of the V2 500s. However when I fail over the two virtual's the phones don't register to the 500s. The licenses all live on the Primary, which should not matter. I have SIP B179s, 3rd party IP licenses to VC units and 9611s. Can't get the to fail over. What am I missing?

Thanks

By default the primary is set to failover to the secondary and vice versa. There isn't a second layer of resilience to the IP500 V2s. The assumption would be that your primary and secondary are a) unlikely to both fail at the same time; b) have the capacity to support each others phones whereas an IP500 V2 is more limited.

If you have both your primary and secondary in the same bit of virtual infrastructure cloud then that's not good.

Thanks guys, no the failover shows its there.... Its also listed in web manager and both units are check marked.

We only have 500 phones, so I was hoping to register even just 300 of them over to the one V2. But for some crazy reason that doesn't seem possible. Which makes literally no sense.

So in reality if I want full resilency, I should just turn down the secondary... Fail the Primary over to the V2 its where the PRIs live anyways. The only limitation I would only get 384 users to register to the 500.

I should have said that when I said "by default" it meant that the default settings can be changed. So yes, the primary can be configured to failover its phones to the IP500 expansion. You have to avoid the configuration wizard in the solution pane and go to the individual settings of the lines between the systems. But that would mean all its resilience features so you would lose the option of voicemail service resiliency to the secondary.

... and that 384 extension would have to include any extension ports already on the IP500 V2.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
