I posted a similar message previously. I am interested to know how other companies handle documenting their servers and the datbases / applications that reside on them. Currently we are looking at documenting our servers/datbases. We were looking at documenting such information as server/db name, version, service pack, size, data/log location, maint/optimization schedules, users, logins, etc.

1. Do any other companies document such information?
2. How is it created and stored(MS word, scripts, 3rd party software, etc.)?

Any feedback, comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Jeff
