Whenever I try using Server.CreateObject, I get an error saying "object required: 'server'". Why is it so?

Server is an ASP (Active Server Pages) object and Server is an implicit object og ASP. Are you trying to use this object outside of the ASP environment.

Try to add RUNAT=Server at you <SCRIPT> tag where your problem is.
And of course you have to have an ASP-aware server, otherwise the Server object does not exist.
