Server Crashes

Recently our Windows NT Server is crashing or hanging to
either a blank screen or a flashing prompt, we see in the
event viewer the following:

entry:
Event ID: 6008
Source: Event Log
Type: Error
Description:
The previous system shutdown at Time on Date was unexpected.

Any ideas whats causing it?
