Server Consolidation Problems

I'm tried to retore a mksysb from a F80 or 44p with AIX5.3 TL04 SP1 over a P570 partition but I have a lot of problems.

is some restriction to change a system from a POWER3 to a POWER5 ??

1) Boot from tape --> error LED code 0c43
2) Boot from cdrom an restore from tape --> error overmounting
3) Boot from NIM and retore a MKSYSB sile --> error overmounting
....

Help.

Try doing the clone using NIM or alt_disk_install.

I'll second the alt_disk_install option. I've used this as a last resort a couple of times.

Was the CD you booted at exactly the same level as the mksysb?
