Server configuration for 1000 emps

Can any one out there help me to find information about the configuration for a server whcih would allow 1000 employees access on line at the same time from different locations, nationally and internationally? The access could be done via Internet or Interant.

I need the following information:
name of manufactury(ex: Dell, ComPaq, ....)
Size of memory(256, 512.....)
Size of storage(100GB)
Type of controller
Operating system
Database system
License information
Firewall
Back up device

It would be great I could also get the cost infomation about the above items.
Any suggestions about how the system could be configured and set up would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to define "access".
What are these employee's going to do?

file and print access?
http server?
database client access?
database application?
telnet access?
etc...etc...etc

Actually...step back and review what you are trying to accomplish with this system. Depending on what business need you are trying to solve a single system may not be what you want. Availability and redundancy may be very important to a 1000 user system. I could specify a killer web server system that would be totally inappropriate for an enterprise file server or database server.

What I try to set up is a web server system with e-learning courses. 1000 users can access from diferent location from diferent contries. Users would take on-line traning when they need to. They may also chat on-line. The database then would store data for users answers, test, and some other info.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could give me some ideas about how to start.
