Just curious if anyone can offer some insight on differences between Sun Cobalt and FreeBSD. Good or bad
A couple of months ago I switched ISP's. The original ISP was running FreeBSD and I went to an ISP with Cobalt.
The only reason I switched was the first ISP would only give me 1 Mysql database.
It seems to me the Cobalt is a little faster but I had trouble running a few Open source perl/cgi-bin scripts.
When contacting the programmer, he said it was a common problem with Cobalt. Also had no telnet access.
Now, I'm finding out my former ISP now offers multiple databases, so I'm probably going to go back.
Switching ISP's has been a real pain in the arse !!
So I'm just looking for general feedback on anyone's experience or knowledge.
Cheers,
