We had an old HP SureStore tape drive connected to a Dell PowerEdge 2650 that worked fine using Backup Exec 9 untill the tape drive died. We want to connect an HP SureStore DAT24x6 to this server but the computer will not recognize a tape drive being connected. In fact when checking on devices through Control Panel- Administrative Tools -Computer Management - Device Manager - the Tape Drives folder is not even present. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I might start? I have tried to load the necessary drivers for the tape, but have seen no results.
