server can not join the domain

I am trying to join the domain but I keep on getting a Duplicate name with the NT box. I check the dhcp server, the computer name is not duplicate at all, however, the same machine is a member server before it went down.
I use the PDC server manger to add this server in but I am keep on getting this error on the event viewer about the Duplicate name.
Tire of the it and re-installed the NT and still did not help.
The PDC doesn't like something about this server.

Hi,

Remove the old member server name from the domain using the server manager, remove from domain.

Try joining the domain after eth NT install from the new system. Use the user id that has permission to join the domain.

Did the deleting and try to add to domain but it keep on saying can not locate domain.
I look at the event viewer, the workstation service had stop because of duplicate name.
I check but no computer on the network with the same name.
