Server browser conflicts.

I have everything on Godaddy, and would like to leave it there, but their recent upgrades or tweaks have caused changes in mail behavior that
1) Does not display mail from senders tagged as preferred
2) Will not permit specifying a folder to save download.
3) Does not send calender alerts.

A quick and testy support call indicated that their system does not work with IE. There are a number of reasons not to use IE, among them the need to type in a password twenty or thirty times a day. I am wondering but doubt if there is either a fix for this or if another non IE browser might be available that would work better. Support says not Opera. Safari?

I'd try Firefox.
