Hi all !

I am facing trouble in unixware 7 server's response time. After careful analysis it is found that the bottleneck lies in network connectivity. The server is using Intel ethernet card. Intel claims to have the technology wherein we can use more than one server ethernet card to build a "team" of adapters which when connected to a switch having Link Aggregation feature enabled will scale the bandwidth to nearly four times the single adapter.

Can anyone help in configuring such a "team" of network adapters?

Thanks In Advance

Well, if the switch is doing the aggregation as you imply, then it would seem that all you need to do is add 4 cards.

Perhaps if you gave a Link to whatever it is you saw we might have a better answer.

The description can be found on intel's server adapter page under advanced networking services.

OK, if Intel says it's supported, what is there to "interpret"?

See, there is nothing to interpret.Something which I have just referred to is probably a new technology which can come to rescue when we have server bottlenecks.

Merely putting four cards in the server will not do the things "automatically". There has to be some procedure to configure them as a single logical unit.

I have seen similar situation in Windows NT where the same configuration can be done with Proset utility. When this driver is installed, it gives an option to enable the NICs as "team".This software obviously is provided by Intel.
