Right now I am currently using the basic Windows backup for our servers. I was wondering what are some other types of backup software that yall use or would recommend?

Also, does this software work faster in creating backups than the windows based?

Thanks in advance,
J

Like GrimR I'd say Backup Exec and Arcserve are much of a muchness.

However pay very careful attention to the prices of any agents you might need like SQL or Exchange when you get around to comparing the costs. It isn't just the base server license that you have to worry about.

I'm currently using commvault and I like it alot. Buying it can be expensive and overly complicated though.

I used to use BackupExec (a long time ago) and it was horrible. I would never go back to that one.

I've downloaded a trial of Microsoft's DPM, but I haven't tried it out yet. Since you are using MSBackup might as well try that out since it's a free trial and all.
