So in our latest fun - we migrated to a new server and upgraded our MICROS 3700 to 5.7. Now reports that are programmed to print in Autosequences do not match up with the printers assigned.

For instance our main printer is named "Genie" and is the default printer both in Windows and in the 3700 System Configurator... however, when I set up the Autosequence it prints to another printer.

Is there a MICROS Printer reference file somewhere I can access/change? Is there a way to find out what has fouled up in the database?

Our Dealer/POS Installer is perplexed and muttering, "It's always something with network/domain printers" ... I'm also looking into ways of printing outside of MICROs Autosequences without having to install Office on the server.

I thank you in advance!

In the database the name of the printer is just stored in the micros.rest_def

select deflt_prntr_name from micros.rest_def

I assume they are just using this to find the printer and to print to it.

If they are networked printers then it might be a problem with the hostname resolution to an IP address
Have a look in the hosts file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
Maybe you have both printer names mapped to the same IP or something.

Print your Micros reports to a PDF. Then do what you want with them...email them, share them on a network, put them in a cloud...
