I have a 2008 Server with TS running remote apps. I have a TS client on XP, SP3, 32-bit that is trying to print from a remote app to a shared printer on another XP, SP3, 32-bit client. When clicking on print, all apears to work, but nothing is printed. I have run KB 302361 on both clients, rebooted, and still having the same problem. When printing from local apps on the XP pc, print jobs work fine to shared printer. In the server event log, I see Event ID 6161 with the following:

"The document Intuit, owned by ksherick, failed to print on printer HP LaserJet 4000 Series PCL6 on FCFINANCIAL (redirected 5). Try to print the document again, or restart the print spooler.

Data type: RAW. Size of the spool file in bytes: 547089. Number of bytes printed: 0. Total number of pages in the document: 6. Number of pages printed: 0. Client computer: \\SERVER. Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 5. Access is denied."

Not sure of next step.
Thanks

The access denied seems to tell the story. Look at the permissions on the shared printer and make sure that the users from the TS box have rights.

Personally I would recommend that you get yourself a print server to connect that printer to so it can be directly attached to the network.

Would cost you under $40.

I hope you find this post helpful.

I tried to print from the PC that has the printer physically attached and no go. I will update the HP drivers on both PC's and try again. After that, I will punt and install a print server.

Thanks!
