I have a server HP DL320 running 2003 Server Standard Edition. This server was running fine, then I mapped a drive and copied the install for exchange 2003, I ran the install and the exchange install told me that I needed to install IIS. I copied over the i386 directory from a 2003 R2 cd to the server and ran the install for IIS. This installed and I kept running into issues saying I needed to enable ASP.net. I thought I did that, (but was showing enabled in the wrong area) so I decided to reboot the server to see if that is what it needed.
Once I rebooted, I get an error saying at least one or more services did not start. I am able to log on and it looks like the server is running fine, however, I am showing no network connections(they ARE showing up in the device manager) I can not copy and paste, I tried to start services and i get a dependency error. Also, I can see the event log but am not able to open them to view the errors! :4-dontkno

This server is not able to do anything, any suggestions are appreciated.

I think installing bits from R2 onto a standard box can cause unpredicted results as you are seeing.

Try another restart. Try installing SP2 over the top.
