Hello,
I've got a 2003 print server with many printers, and has run without issue for about a year. Lately, things are still running well as long as the physical printers are ready/printing. If there's a paper jam or somehow the physical printer is offline for more than a minute, the print server reports the printer as offline (as proper).
After the jam is cleared, the physical printer is ready, on the network, but the print server still shows the printer status as offline, Paper jam etc. It takes ~5-7 minutes for the server to "catch up" and print the jobs in the queue. I can restart the Print spooler service for a "quick fix" but can't practically do this in our production environment (can't affect other customers, lose jobs in the queue, etc). As long as the printer stays "ready", printing is perfect. Rebooting the server didn't rectify the issue.
Any ideas?
