How do I install active directory on my computer that is not on a network. Want to use it for class to keep from going to the lab. I go through the wizard but at the end it says it can't find the network. I'm missing something in one of the wizard steps. Thanks in advance.

I don't think it can be done. I'll check though. AD wants to give authentication to pc's so if there isn't any, it probably figures it doesn't need to be installed. Glen A. Johnson

You must have an active NIC link when installing. Just connect the NIC to a hub or something. You will need to leave this connected unless you want a volume of error messages every time you restart the server though...
