I have an IBM PC 330 series(Model-type 6557-59t). I just bought a TNT2 Speed Chaser PCI version(VC9811), when installed
I got a blank screen. When i connented it to onboard video display adapter and let the system start windows 98 recongize the TNT2 card. I installed the drivers like it said in the manual. Restarted the system, connected the monitor to the TNT2 card and the I get same problem. I flashed the system with the lastest Bios from IBM. CAn you help me with this problem.

System chipset 82439HX 430HX
Pentium 166 MMX
Ram 40mb
Surepath Bios
S3 Trio 64v+ graphic adapter--onboard

Can you disable the onboard video via Bios setup...or at least change it from primary to secondary?

I recently got given one of these machines when a friend upgraded (and guess who helped build the new PC ).

The onboard video seems to make itself primary - even when you disable it! This can be overridden in Windows 98, and is definitely the cause of this issue.

I had more fun when I added a second monitor and used both cards. :)
