hello everyone,
my problem is as following:
i created databse application using delphi5 professional and interbase6 i want to deploy it on my local network
i copied the executable delphi file on a machine and connect it
with a server where the interbase database exist but i found
a message that i must have some .dll files or interbase on
the client machine.
plz help me to deploy this application.
bye.

Do you have the 5 license interbase server or not? I think that Delphi pro doesn't have the connect to remote server option.

Did you install the interbase client on all machines?

You need to install the Interbase client on each machine.
Without it that machine cannot connect to the server.

i thank you friends this was helpfull.
my question is can i find free interbase client version on
the internet.

The Interbase client is together with the server, because without it you are unable to communicate with the server.

Hi,

Interbase has an opensource version (6.5). Its free and works without any problem. At borlands site you can download the files. Looking at borlands-site I couldn't find them. Nothing there about the opensource version anymore.

Use the links for download the server + client
