I am a better C++ programmer than VB and I am used to the Borland environment so I need a recommendation on a component (that comes with VB preferably) that allows me to shoot characters out a serial port.

I have a simple app that just needs to send out a character when it does something (so I know its alive).

Any help would be GREAT!

Just the MSCOMM32.ocx that comes with VB6.
