Hi all :

I am building a PC based system to talk to Microchip PICS via the RS232 ( converted to rs485) port. I have the software working nice in hyperterm and the PICS, but my problem is this :

I want the PC to poll the various address's of the PICS, as in a loop to out the address, and the PIC decides the address then responds. My problem is how do I have the PC try the address 3 times, then assume "no answer" if the PIC doesnt respond? I would like to have it try 3 times, then move to next address....been a long time since BASIC in school....what about while / wend?

Suggestions please.....This is for a HAM radio project, polling PICS that interface with different radios at a site.

OK, found a while wend loop and a counter done it...

Now on to decoding tha address on the pic.

Anyone else been into this stuff????
