Hey all,

I've used the serial dongle for an SOE with no problem before, I noticed a reference to using it in the back of the 412 also. Have not tried this, can someone confirm this works?

Also - it appears you can't use the serial dongle in a com port on a PC (say if you want to do something crazy like, oh I don't know, upgrade an SOE to a 403???). Am I missing something?

Have tested this in the Lab serial dongale into the DTE port on a 403 works just need a 9-25 adapter.

[cheers]

It works, but its not officially supported - ie. no official long term load testing has ever been done on it. Seems the engineers (who didn't block it in software) and the documentation overtook the folks in product test.

Interesting. Has anyone tried it on a 412?

Dumb question but I will ask any!!!

I assume that the license key ip address would then be the address of the IP Office?

Good question and 'no' - the manuals say that it should be left blank if using a serial port key on the control unit.
