serial connection

hello;
I am trying in a lab to interconnect two cisco routers 2500 and 4000, through serial lines without success.
the interfaces go up (line protocole) for a while and they return back to down.
could you send me configuration examples.

you need to set a clock rate on DCE-device

Go to the router with the DCE side of the cable (the other side is DTE) and do this

int s0
clockrate 130000

If you get an error, then it is because you attempted to do it to the DTE side of the cable.

That should do it for you.
