I wrote a simple tool that uses the CreateFile, ReadFile and WriteFile functions. The tool is simply used to monitor a serial port for input and display it in a text box. It can also Send bytes entered by the user to the serial port. If I run two instances of my tool each set for a different com port, and connect the com ports with a null modem cable I can type bytes into one, and see them show up on the other. I have done this 100s of times now on my development Windows 2000 pc. Today I tried it on an NT machine and the bytes I monitored were different from what I typed. What could be causing my problem?
Please help :)
