I have a palm pilot IIIxe. I wonder if it´s possible to use my palm when configuring switches/routers using the console port.
Can I connect a serial cable to my palm? if yes, where can I find one?
Which is the best telnet application for palm pilots out there? I must be able to run vt-100 and ansi with it.

CAN ANYONE HELP.. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A SERIAL CABLE FOR MY PALM VX TO USE TO COMMUNICATE WITH A STANDARD SERIAL DEVICE... CIRCUITS WOULD BE GREAT. GAZ.

Wouldn't it be easier to use the Palm's built in IR transmitter, and buy a IR control that you plug into your serial port?

No, it would be easier to wire directly into the serial port. I've been scouring the net as well for the same connection on a handspring visor. They use the DTR and RTS lines to get RS232 voltage levels, although I'm not sure how this provides a positive voltage when both are at -11. Still only a couple of hours into research though. I'm also curious about the TxD(PC) and RxD(Visor) tying them directly together might cause some kind of overvoltage and that scares me.
