Dear Friends

At one of our customers we have "just out of the clear sky" observed that OCTEL Serenade 200 S/W 2.0.2-2 (12/26/97) hangs up, when calling in to several lines.
LIC-8 is used, and it has been operating fault free since 1996. Normally we see that the whole LIC-8 is getting defective, but this time 3 out of 8 ports are dead.
Also the modem gives "noise characters" on the screen.
Grounding and ferite beads are checked and found OK.
The VM system has been booted and powered OFF/ON, still the problems are at large.
The DEX 1, L H and PS show no problems.
Any hints?
As a workaround we have taken the 3 analogue lines out of the main VM hunt group.

What is the PBX/integration type you're connected to? Is there a possibility of swapping line pairs to see if the problem follows the analogue pair?

Does the system answer at all, or ring forever? If the system answers, how many rings does it take? What does the caller hear, if anything?

Are the most recent patches applied and obsoleted patches removed?

What does LOG PR CPT show for the affected ports going back to when they were last known working and after they were reported not working?

The PBX is an Ericsson MD110.
We have tried to swap the analoge lines from the MD110, but with no luck.
The integration is of the serial type (ICU board). This never fails. The MD and VM system work correctly as they should w.r.t. the integration.
The system has been running fault free untill one week ago.
The system was installed in 1996.
I will however try the LOG PR CPT...
The 5 out of the 8 ports work now as they should.
I have also checked the MON2 and L T 1 C and all timing and response seem to be OK.
