I'm using Photoshop CS2 and printing on an OfficeJet 4215. The advertisement I'm printing is coming out very, very wrong from the middle down: all the text seems to have a drop shadow effect, a lighter copy behind it. I've tried flattening the image and saving it as a PDF, but it keeps happening.

I've aligned and cleaned my print cartridges... any idea where I go from here?

Thanks!

Since it is only doing it from the middle down, there seems to be a problem with the registration on the printer....If you have the choice, try to print it on another machine.

It may be as simple as reinstalling your printer drivers..

Do other PShop pics of similar type print correctly on the same printer?

I typed out a whole page of text in different fonts and it all came out with a drop shadow effect. :(

If you don't have another printer to test with you should follow CLMooreJr (Instructor) advice.

OR if you can post a test page somewhere, one of us could be your alternare test printer

Happens with Illustrator as well, but only with this printer. The printer is refurbished, so I think I'll take it back.

Just haven't heard of this problem before, like a ghost copy behind everything. Very strange. Tried reinstalling and everything, but no luck.

I'm on a Mac by the way.

Thanks guys!

I am having this same problem as described. I have photoshop cs1. My printer works fine when it is printing in Microsoft Word and other applications, so I think it is a problem with photoshop. I reinstalled both my printer and photoshop program and still didn't fix the problem. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Do you have an HP by any chance? I called their support and got nowhere so decided to take the printer back and get an Epson. Everything's fine now.

It's not a Photoshop or Illustrator problem.

Yea, I have an hp 1200 series. I have had it for awhile now and it has worked flawlessly. It still works great with all my other programs except photoshop. I don't think I can return mine unfortunately. I have had it for about 2 years. This all happened right after I calibrated my printer and ran the clean cartridge program. I'm sure that is what messed it up. It seems that there must be something to do to fix the problem.

Actually I take that back. It is not working correclty when I am printing from Safari and other programs. It works in Micro. Word though. Uggh! Stupid printer!

Figured it out. There was another alignment/calibration tool that I used that came with the software. Fixed the problem. YEAYYY!
